Thomas Jones was convicted of the murder of Mary Burton and sentenced to death.
They had been living together but Thomas Jones left Mary Burton and went to live in a common lodging house at Ffestiniog.
They later had a quarrel afterwhich Mary Burton was found dead on a hill.
